Slovenia, I don't know exactly where you are, but here I come!
PS: The Fray and Will Ferell are coming to school on Thursday. Booya. Because we're about to hand UCLA their ass on a platter... or whatever Bruins eat from. The garbage, I guess.
You are moderately reserved, moody, organized, moderately egocentric, and intellectual, and may prefer a city which matches those traits.

Who's got a car in LA now? I've got a car in LA now! It arrived today on the back of this big rig... my precious.... Finding a parking spot in the lot I'm assigned was another story all together. :(
BTW, I thought they stopped making pants from the 1980s, so how is it my Russian math teacher always wears them? I swear, he is the most awkward person I've ever met. He won't make eye contact with anyone and shifts around nervously. Weird.
I was national tv for like a full minute on Saturday. ESPN College GameDay was filming at our school's stadium and I was there, bitches. Front row, to the left of Kirk Herbstreit. I was the one cheering loudly and then sort of standing there awkwardly for 20 seconds. BUT I got a Home Depot gift card (oh, goody) and we FUCKIN OWNED the Cornhuskers.
So I registered to vote yesterday. As a Dem -- not that I'm entirely a Dem, but I had to in order to vote in the primaries. I thought about registering as a Republican just to sabotage their primaries but I would have thrown up. Watch out, Dubya! And the Governator: hasta la vista. Wow, what a terrible joke.
So I found out today not only will my fellow co-captain of Aerodynamics and Stability and Control on our aircraft design team NOT be able to make the meetings, but he knows the programming code just about as well as I do -- which is to say not at all. So guess who has to be presenting to the rest of the team by HERSELF? Guess who has to present to Lockheed Martin (the best in the aerospace industry and the company I want to work for), Boeing, Swift, etc., by HERSELF? I'm a sophomore; I've had one aerospace course! I don't know what I'm talking about! Here's how I imagine the presentation going down (in front of everyone):
Me: So, yeah, this is our plane. Yeah. Lockheed: So what's it do? Me: Uh, fly. Lockheed: Okay... did you find that the mean aerodynamic chord has any effect on the drag at a certain angle of attack, or does the drag just vary invresely with the sqaure of the coeffecient of lift? Me: Um... yes. That one.
So I have to get a crash course on how to make pretty meaningful pictures like this one:
So here's what's happened since I moved into USC housing: 1. Went to the Laugh Factory in Hollywood to see Jon Lovitz, Aries Spears, Skyler Stone, Nick someone... and a special preview of the movie Accepted from the cast and crew. Awesome. 2. Welcomed the incoming engineers in a luau. Pretty fun, actually. Their best pick-up lines: "Did you grow up on a chicken farm? Because you sure know how to raise some cock." "My, that sweater is becoming on you. If I were on you, I'd be coming, too." (In an Asian accent): "Hey, baby. I am cosine squared. You are sine squared. Together we are one." 3. Went to a free concert put on by USC with Hot Hot Heat. Actually, I like the opening band, Big City Rock, better. Katy Perry... not so much. 4. Went to see Snakes on a Plane. Hell yeah. Saw a Trojan football scrimmage. Hell yeah. Saw Norm MacDonald do standup, again put on by USC. Hell... no. He was so drunk and all he did was gay jokes. 5. Started classes. Meh.
And in other news... SG-1 is being cancelled! Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!
IL is quite the change coming form LA, I can tell ya that. I guess I'm writing this because I can't talk correctly. I had to go to the dentist and he numbed my mouth, so now my tongue feels swollen. Oh, and I banged up my car. Backed into a column. Fun times.
1. Galactica is doing a spinoff. Don't care. SG copiers! 2. JF is hot. 3. The chick from Firefly who played the companion Mal was in love with will play a new recurring baddie on SG-1. 4. SG's premieres are on July 14. 5. JF is still hot. 6. Kate Hewlett, DH's sister, will play McKay's sister in an upcoming ep. Did I just blow your mind? 7. Gero wants to write a SGA 'day off' ep with no action or twists, just following the characters on what they would do on their day off. The producers won't let him. I say go; whatever that man touches is gold.
And that's the conclusion of my nerdiness. Now I'm off to my nerd class, Calc III. Someone explain to me what line and surface integrals are??
Btw, I'm taking the best General Ed. class next semester. It's called 'Ethics for Earthlings and Others' and all we do is watch old school sci-fi, including Star Trek, in class and discuss. Point for me.
I think I've found VH1's new #1 Most Awesomely Bad Song.
This is possibly THE funniest thing I've seen in a while. It reaks of Eurotrash. This Icelandic pop star, yes they apparently have pop stars, made this god-awful music video entitled, I kid you not, "Congratulations, I have Arrived." Oh, thank the Lord. Complete with 12 (gawdy) outfit changes (I swear the last one on the guys looks like gay Mexican wrestlers' masks), this video will leave a lasting impression! I'm not sure if it was going for the whole circus theme or what..... The best part (next to the flaming guys, hilarious) is her phone call to God:
*first suck in some helium* "Hello, is this God? What's up dog?! It's your favorite person in the world, Silvia Night! I'm saving the world! See you, bye!"
My friends found her on myspace. Apparently she's friends with a Swedish porn star. Oh, Eurotrash, how you entertain me.
Hey you, looking at me, I’m talking to you I’m Silvia Night shining in the light – I know you want me too Born in Reykjavik in a different league – no damn eurotrashfreak The vote is in, they say I win To bad for all the others
So congratulations I have arrived I’m Silvia Night and I’m shining so bright Eurovision nation your dreams will come true You’ve been waiting forever For me to save you Wham bam boom
My song’s totally cool no yesterday’s news Really hot okay, really not too gay I’m coming here to stay Want a piece of me, listen carefully You’ll be D.E.A.D. So boys and girls around the world, Let’s meet next year in Iceland
So congratulations I have arrived I’m Silvia Night and I’m shining so bright Eurovision nation your dream’s coming true You’ve been waiting forever For me to save you
(phone - conversation) Hello is it god? What’s up dog? It’s your favourite person in the world Silvia Night I’m saving the world See you...bye
So congratulations I have arrived I’m Silvia Night and I’m shining so bright Eurovision nation your dreams will come true You’ve been waiting forever For me to save you Wham bam boom
So congratulations I have arrived I’m Silvia Night and I’m shining so bright Eurovision nation your dreams will come true Vote for your hero that’s what you must do I love you
So it's been one day back from spring break and I'm done. Can't concentrate, classes suck, failing Calc III, close to failing Phys I, 3 midterms next week...
Good news is I might go snowboarding in a few weeks. :)
Ok, so I've decided my physics prof looks like a cross of Jubil Early from the last episode of Firefly and the bad guy from Serenity. He has the Brit accent and everything.
Looks like May of 2006 will be a good month for movies!
And finally, Lady on the Water sounds good. The trailer sucks, though. It looks all happy until the end, where it says "A Bedtime Story..." *cue screepy piano music* "...written and directed by M. Night Shaymalan." Yeah, so it HAS to be creppy, but good. Plus I think Paul Giamati is an awesome actor, and Bryce Dallas Howard from Shaymalan's The Village is also good.
It's at 6400 Sunset Blvd. in Hollywood and goes by the name Amoeba Music. GREATEST. STORE. EVER. They buy/sell/trade new and used music and movies, and anything related to music and movies, from vinyls to tees to posters. They have the biggest collection of music EVER in this really cool underground-like warehouse. Indi films. Tv shows. Imports. Even game soundtracks. From Japan. They're all in great condition, and the best part is their prices. Imported CDs from Japan: $7. Finding your heaven: priceless.
So I bought SG-1 season 8, the brand spankin new one which goes for $59ish for a (drumroll please) price of $25! And a movie for $7! Grand total: About 35 buckaroos, baby, and I'm a-lovin' it. It's finals week and shopping makes me happy.
Other than that, took a final for Mythology and found out my prof. was born in the same town I was. Weird. Failed a final in Materials Science yesterday, but sadly bettered the average score. Just me, or is something wrong with that picture? Planning on rocking my Aero final and bombing by Calc II final. Hurrah for Taylor Series. Went to Calif. Pizza Kitchen and got a white pizza. Watched my mail service people screw up my package delivery, a temporarily frozen pizza from Chicago, which will have thawed and have became all nasty by the time I get it. Funny how people who work for a university aren't necessarily educated. Hmm.
